Getting Creative with Kids over Summer

As a mommy + creative type, I'm always looking for new things to do with the kids. I had heard about kiwi crate a while back, but didn't sign up right away because I wasn't sure if it was worth it. I'm so glad I did! It's the best "subscription" kit I have signed up for yet. Here's how it works: you can purchase just a one time box or a subscription for a box to come once a month. Each box is a different theme, and contains at least 2 activities/crafts/projects. And even better, ALL the supplies are included, they are good quality, and they are super creative. This last box kept my kids engaged for an entire morning.

First activity: building a campfire. They had rocks and clay to arrange in a circle, then apply crinkled tissue, and then use the tea light to turn on underneath as the "flame". And of course no campfire is complete without roasting marshmallows on a stick.

Next up was a cute mini backpack. They had to paint the bag, then arrange the stencils how they wanted. After letting them dry in the sun, the stencil shapes were highlighted.
