Easter Table Decor

With Easter just around the corner we wanted to share a few table styling options! We are all about the little moments and special touches and dressing up your table for any holiday is, in our humble opinion, the best way to create an interesting focal point, not to mention the perfect conversation starter.

We wanted the first option for table decor to have a garden feel with pops of pastels - a perfect look for an Easter brunch! To achieve this, we found the perfect palette of egg shaped plates, neutral wooden bunnies, some very lightly colored pastel eggs, and several bunches of fresh flowers which we decided to house in clear and white vases to really allow the flowers to stand out!

Since the core of Design Roots is calligraphy, we always like to add a touch of something handwritten into everything we do! The perfect solution for this (and just about everything else in life, really!) is to use a roll of butcher paper as your table runner. You can simply write "Happy Easter", add doodles, or even have your kids decorate it before the table is fully set! We used chalk on ours but if you want something more permanent you could just as easily use a chalk marker.

The second option is a simply styled place setting. We used burlap chargers (we had a mini freakout session when we saw these!), white plates, a yellow/pastel colored napkin, with the ever-so-adorable burlap bunny ear napkin ring. One of our favorite tricks for table styling is cutting down sheets of flat paper to use as placemats. This is a super inexpensive trick instead of purchasing fabric ones! We also always love to add a menu card to each place setting so guests are in the know about what's to come.

Instead of using a traditional place card, we decided it would only be appropriate to use these precious egg holders and, of course, add a handwritten touch by adding each guest's initial. You could also write out their whole name or do a full monogram. So many options!

Last up, but certainly not least, a cupcake display! Using our new carrot stamp we made a dessert card and with orange ink wrote out carrot cupcakes. They were delicious and from our favorite shop, Sugar Ray's!

Our best advice for table styling? Take a look around your house! Oftentimes the best vases, decorations, and props are in other rooms around your home and act as great pieces for a table or centerpieces. Also, we tend to find a lot of great goodies at stores like Homegoods, Hobby Lobby, Christmas Tree Shop, and even yard sales and antique shops so always be on the lookout for unique pieces, especially at the end of each holiday when they go on sale!
