If you haven't seen our new ink pot holders, then let me introduce you. These nifty little handmade wood blocks come in two sizes (1/2oz. and 1oz.) and four different colors (natural, bubblegum pink, teal, or gold). As a calligrapher, these are not only a favorite accessory in my office, but will be now included with all of my classes/workshops moving forward!
And speaking of new classes and workshops - we have lots of new dates scheduled!
First up - Calligraphy 2.0 Class on Saturday, April 12th at Missing Q Press in downtown McKinney, TX. This workshop is designed for those who have taken a calligraphy class from me (or elsewhere) and want to know what comes next.
After my students get their first taste of pen + ink, the very next questions typically end up being "where can I buy color and how do I mix it?" or "what's your favorite brand to use?" If this sounds like you, then this class could very well be exactly what you need next. We'll be dabbling with different colors and going over how to mix ink yourself. You will also get to apply the colored ink on envelopes and practice different ways to address, play with doodles, and add flourishes. Oh, did we mention this will all take place in the absolutely gorgeous pressroom at Missing Q? Yes, you will be among all the letterpress magic!
And if all of that that wasn't enough, each student will leave with two mixed colors, our double ink pot holder, a set of letterpress notecards, and an 8x10 letterpress print that Missing Q Press and myself are collaborating on! For more details and how to register, click here.
We've also added more workshops for April and May including one at Sugar Ray's Bakeshop. Calligraphy & cupcakes - does it get any better? Click here to reserve a spot now, spaces are limited and workshops are selling out quickly!
Stay tuned for more fun upcoming classes throughout the spring! And if you ever have a unique shop or space that should host a Design Roots workshop, please feel free to reach out and let us know!
